Recently, the United States Steel Corporation announced that it would spend $60 million to expand the capacity of the Gary ironmaking plant in Indiana. The reconstruction project will start in the first half of 2022 and is expected to be put into operation in 2023.
It is reported that through equipment transformation, the pig iron output of Gary ironmaking plant of American steel company is expected to increase to 500000 tons / year.
