Brazilian slab exports are now around $570-580 / ton FOB, down about $10 / ton on a week-on-week basis due to competing resource offers from Asia.

 At present, some Brazilian slab exporters are quoted as low as US $560-575 / ton FOB, about US $640-650 / ton CFR Italy, while some sources from Indonesia and China are as low as US $620-630 / ton CFR, putting some pressure on Brazilian slab exports.

 Despite the high export prices of Brazilian slabs, buyers are still interested in buying, and no new deals have been heard.

 Brazilian sellers also do not want major changes in the markets in which they operate and want to try to retain major buyers, the sources said. Brazilian slab buyers are concentrated in Mexico, the United States and Europe.
