Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. (Baosteel), the listed subsidiary of the world’s largest steelmaker China Baowu Steel Group, has decided to raise the list price of carbon steel hot-rolled coil (HRC) by RMB 200/ton ($28.7/ton), according to the company. Through its new pricing policy officially released on Monday night, domestic sales in January came after cutting December list prices by RMB 100/ton.
As usual, Baosteel did not disclose the actual pricing of its individual products in its monthly pricing policy, but only the magnitude of the price adjustment. In January, the order received by Baosteel was slightly better than that in November, mainly due to the purchase of steel products from the manufacturing industry.
