European local hot roll recent offer basically stable at 768 euros/ton EXW, week on week basically holding flat, rising transaction volume is not much. The price is around 750 euros per ton. Some European steel mills are considering price increases for hot coil in the second quarter. Supply cuts and a lack of competitive import prices are driving up domestic prices further. Italian hot coil prices for April and May delivery are at 800 euros per ton without any discount. Because the market price is high, buyers have no direct purchase intention, although the orders in January increased significantly, but now most of them take a wait-and-see attitude, market transaction list. On the other hand, the steel mill is willing to price, order volume is good, so the subsequent price changes need to be further observed.
In the import market, price uncompetitiveness also provides support for local prices, with hot rolls imported from India and Asia currently priced at 750 EUR/t CFR (April shipping), but orders are small. Japan, South Korea, Turkey did not have any offer and deal this week. And domestic and foreign price difference is not big, transportation time is long, so imported resources have no obvious advantage.
