In January, the output of crude steel in Africa was 1.2 million tons, an increase of 3.3% year-on-year; The output of crude steel in Asia and Oceania was 111.7 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 8.2%; The crude steel output in the CIS region was 9 million tons, an increase of 2.1% year-on-year; EU (27) crude steel output was 11.5 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 6.8%. Crude steel production in other European countries was 4.1 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 4.7%. The output of crude steel in the Middle East was 3.9 million tons, an increase of 16.1% year-on-year; The output of crude steel in North America was 10 million tons, an increase of 2.5% year-on-year; The output of crude steel in South America was 3.7 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.3%.
In the past ten major steel producing countries, the crude steel output in Chinese mainland was 81 million 700 thousand tons in January, down 11.2% from the same period last year. India’s crude steel output was 10.8 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.7%; Japan’s crude steel output was 7.8 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.1%; The output of crude steel in the United States was 7.3 million tons, an increase of 4.2% year-on-year; The estimated output of crude steel in Russia is 6.6 million tons, an increase of 3.3% year-on-year; The estimated output of crude steel in South Korea is 6 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.0%; Germany’s crude steel output was 3.3 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.4%; Turkey’s crude steel output was 3.2 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 7.8%; Brazil’s crude steel output was 2.9 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 4.8%; The estimated output of crude steel in Iran is 2.8 million tons, an increase of 20.3% year-on-year.
