India terminates anti-dumping measures against China-related color-coated sheets

On January 13, 2022, the Revenue Department of the Ministry of Finance of India issued a notification No. 02/2022-Customs (ADD), stating that it would terminate the application of Color Coated/Prepainted Flat Products Alloy Non- Alloy Steel)’s current anti-dumping measures.

On June 29, 2016, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India issued an announcement to initiate anti-dumping investigations on color-coated boards originating in or imported from China and the European Union. On August 30, 2017, India made a final affirmative anti-dumping ruling on the case, suggesting that anti-dumping duties should be imposed on the products involved in the case imported from or originating in China and the EU. The price limit is $822/metric ton. On October 17, 2017, the Ministry of Finance of India issued Notification No. 49/2017-Customs (ADD), which decided to impose anti-dumping duties on the products involved in China and the EU at a minimum price for a period of 5 years, starting from January 2017. January 11 to January 10, 2022. On July 26, 2021, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India issued an announcement to initiate the first anti-dumping sunset review investigation on color-coated boards originating in or imported from China and the European Union. On October 8, 2021, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India made an affirmative final ruling on the case, suggesting that anti-dumping duties should continue to be levied on the products involved in China and the EU at a minimum price of $822 per metric ton. The case involved products under Indian customs codes 7210, 7212, 7225 and 7226. The products involved do not include plates with a thickness greater than or equal to 6 mm
