Recently, overseas steel prices continue to run at a high level.In Southeast Asia, Vietnam’s two leading steelmakers, Formosa Plastics and Hefa Iron and Steel, delivered local SAE1006 Hot coil delivery prices in May above US$700/ton CIF. Last week, some large Chinese steel mills lowered their steel export prices. At present, low-priced resources are at 650 US dollars/ton FOB, and the prices of Japanese and Korean resources exported to Southeast Asia are all above 730 US dollars/ton CFR; Production is still in a state of suspension, and the local hot coil price is stable at US$850/ton. Most of the imported resources for plates from April to May come from China. According to Mysteel’s survey, China’s large Steel mills are receiving orders for exports in May, and some steel mills have begun to accept orders for June. In the market situation where overseas steel mills are slow to resume production, China’s steel exports may remain high in the first half of the year.
